We got in the ocean for three days this past weekend. The first day saw had us video taping the Wicked Tuna show. Got some great footage of the boats catching some monster bluefin Thursday and Saturday. It is going to be an exciting show. Saturday we finished filming for the season. The film crew has headed back to L.A. to get the film into production. It should air sometime between May and July. I will let you know when we have the exact dates. We got our chance to fish on Friday. My new mate for the upcoming season had just arrived back from his surfing trip to Bali. Real glad to have Jack Graham on board this season. He is a young gun and really exciting about fishing. What a day to start out on. We hooked our first Blue Fin about twenty minutes into the day. One hour later we released the fish estimated to be between 250 and 300 pounds. A great start for Jack and myself. After trolling around for a couple hours we hooked what appeared to be a really nice Blue Fin. About an hour after hooking this fish he came up on top and gave us a good look at him. I thought the fight would be over in just a couple of minutes. Boy was I wrong. It took another hour and twent minutes before we got the tired fish to the boat. The fish was a little over 100 inches and would have been well over 400 lbs. We probably used our giant tag on this fish, but we chose to let him go. Our angler did a super job staying in the chair and fighting the fish to the bitter end. Jack also did a great job handling the fish. This was a good start to the coming season. The pictures are of the smaller fish. I could never get into position to get a shot of the bigger one. I am planning on hauling the boat out this week and being out of the water for a couple of weeks. Lots of painting this year. Give me a cal for the spring and summer fishing, it looks like it is going to be a good year. Capt. Dick
