Fintastic Fishing Trip Details

On the morning of your charter you will meet Captain Dick at the dock at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.  The Fintastic is moored at slip 14 on the west side of the marina. There, the crew will help you load and store your gear on the boat.  You will now have time to purchase any needed last minute items such as a box-camera, film, or clothing. It is recommended you bring a light jacket, raingear, non-slip footwear, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, lunch and beverages.

Once at the boat, the captain will greet you and give you a rundown of the safety features of the vessel, brief you about the weather forecast for the day, and layout their plan for the days fishing adventure.

At this time you should inform the captain of any health/safety concerns you may have. You will then leave the dock to begin your day of fishing. Normal running time to the fishing grounds on a Gulf Stream Charter is anywhere from ninety minutes to two hours. Normal running time for Striper trips is between 30 minutes and an hour and a half.

You will travel through one of the most pristine marine ecosystems on earth. We fish in the Gulf Stream and surrounding waters.. During your trip it is common to see porpoise, dolphins, pilot whales, fin whales, humpback whales, sharks, turtles, and a variety of sea-birds.

Once you arrive at the captains chosen fishing destination the crew will instruct you with regard to the fishing tackle and technique used for the particular type of fishing.  If you are not familiar with the particular type or style of fishing our friendly crew will gladly guide you every step of the way.

Once your fishing day is complete, the boat will leave the fishing grounds in time to return to the dock between 4 and 5 pm. At the dock your crew will gladly arrange your catch for photographs.

Oregon Inlet has a fishing cleaning service available for a nominal fee. Otherwise, you can bring a cooler and/or bags to transport your catch home with you.
