The ocean rolled over again Monday. After having fantastic tuna fishing Sunday the gulfstream did another roll over and turned cold where the fish had been caught. Ups and downs of spring fishing. It is supposed to breezy the next couple of days so the fishing reports maybe be a little slack. I had a cancellation for this comming Saturday, the weather looks good and there is a good looking eddy sliding into position which should turn the bite on again. I am going to take the time to address the problem all of us are having with cancellations. Folks, please have your deposits in hand when you book a boat. If your sitting around with all your friends and you ask them who wants to go fishing they all jump on the band wagon and want to go. You go and book the boat and three weeks later you still haven't gotten the money from the guys for one reason or another and you call and cancel. Thinking your giving me a months notice and that will be fine, It's not! You have tied that date up for three weeks. That is poor business on my part for allowing it to happen. Deposits are now going to be required the day you book the trip. They will be non refundable unless there is an emergency or bad weather(Your wife's sister husbands sister having a baby is not an emergency). Get the deposits from your friends before you book the boat. I am truely sorry for this but I was warned by a friend in the hunting outfitting bussiness that this would happen more and more and it has. Thus the consequinces. For all of my customers that have been spot on with their deposits I thank each and everyone of you. You business is appreciated so much. Hope I haven't stepped on too many toes but this is my lively hood not just a game. I wish everyone a great day!! Capt. Dick PS If anyone has a suggestion for the above mentioned problem, E-mail me. I am open to all suggestions!
