What a difference a day makes. Being in the right place at the right time sure helps. The day started off with a bang as we found a school of dolphin on the tideline as soon as we crossed into the gulfstream. I had a makeup party and one of the members opened up a beer right before he boarded and I was thinking uh oh then he explained that he had been fishing for twenty five years and that was a tradition for good luck. It sure worked today. ( I think it will be required by all my charters from now on). After we caught our limit of dolphin we put out the trolling baits and soon caught a nice wahoo. Brittany did a great job keeping the toothy critter from cutting the mono leader in two. With the center piece for our catch in the box I trolled to the north hoping for a marlin. Low and behold a sailfih attacked the baits and started his acrobatic performance. It didn't take long for Chester to release the testy sailfish. The fish did put on a nice show. Next on the menu was a fifty pound tuna that Austin brought to the leader and Pete made a great gaff shot and into the fish box he went. We continued on our troll hoping for another billfish but it just didn't happen. We were short of our limit of dolphin by two fish and wouldn't you know it, right as we were getting ready to pull up the lines and head for home a nice gaffer bit and decided to join his cousins in the fishbox for a ride home for the dinner table. It was a great way to end the day! I don't have any days open this week until next Sunday. The following week is up for grabs. Give me a call and crack open a beer and let's go fishing. Capt. Dick
