We finally were blessed with a beautiful day on Saturday. That also meant that everyone that had been cooped up and not able to fish the past several weekends thought it would be a good idea to crank up there motors and give them a good running. I counted over 75 boats fishing in the gulfstream on Saturday. That's a lot of boats. It was a good thing there were a lot of fish out there. We had a great day releasing several nice fish and keeping a 71 incher. The fish weighed in at 185 lbs. We also collected a 35 lb wahoo to add to our fish box.
The weather changed on Sunday and with breezy northeast winds and rain the crowd thinned out. The fishing was excellent! You could catch them on any type of gear you wanted. The bluefins bit for the trollers the pluggers and the chunkers. If you have never tried chunking these giant fish you should give it a try. To see these huge fish swimming and rolling in the chum 20 feet behind the boat is quite a thrill.
The weather looks a little sporty the first part of the week. If you would like to try pluging, jigging, trolling, or chunking I have the weekend available so just give me a call.
