The day was one of those good luck bad luck good luck days. The good luck to start with was setting out and catching fish right away. The first two fish were dolphin and they put on a great leaping show. We had not finished putting the baits back out when we hit the tunas. We hooked 6 out of 10 bites and managed to land 5 of them. We only had 3 anglers. Mom had falling to the seasickness bug. Once we landed the tunas, one of which weighed in at a heafty 73lbs. Kent said we needed to head in. It was only 8:20am. So we packed everything in and headed to the dock. That was the bad luck part of the equation. We arrived back at the dock at 10:00am, with almost 250 lbs of tunas. Not bad for forty minutes of fishing. The next part of the good luck was getting to the dock before the big blow hit. The boats that stayed out ran into the strong cold front on the way home and could only make 8 to 10 knots against the wind and seas. They said it was blowing about 35 mph! This was one time I was happy to be sent home early!!
I have Tuesday and Wednesday open nest week. The fishing is really getting FINTASTIC. Give me a call and take that trip to the place where the big fish live.
